Donnelly Energy was proud to sponsor last month’s Holiday Jam at the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic (BGCPP)! To help celebrate, we’re spotlighting our energy efficiency work with BGCPP in a featured case study.
The BGCPP faced high utility costs at their 15,000 sq. ft. facility, even after upgrading most of their lighting to LED. They turned to us for help.
After conducting a free energy assessment, we uncovered the main culprits:
- Aging HVAC units
- A boiler system over 24 years old
- Outdated lighting in the pool area
We identified plenty of opportunities for upgrades and qualified BGCPP for the best possible program to meet their needs.
Through PSE&G’s Direct Install program, Donnelly Energy secured the maximum available incentive—covering 80% of the project costs! Together, we mapped out an energy efficiency upgrade in two phases:
- Replacing the HVAC and boiler systems
- Upgrading LED lighting in the pool area and hallway
To ensure BGCPP’s programming continued without disruption, we worked closely with them to minimize downtime during both phases.
With support from a corporate sponsor, BGCPP covered its share of the project cost in one lump sum, opting out of the on-bill repayment program offered by PSE&G. The best part? Once the installations were complete, the nonprofit started seeing saving on their utility bills immediately!
Now, BGCPP can focus on what truly matters: serving the children in their community.
