New Jersey has already been feeling the heat lately, but today is officially the first day of Summer! Donnelly Energy team members will be kicking off the new season with a friendly softball tournament against our parent company, Donnelly Construction.
While we’re out playing ball, we have some hot tips to keep you and your business’ utility bills cool this Summer!
TURN OFF THE LIGHTS
Take advantage of the summer daylight by turning off the lights! Not only is the sun free and efficient, but it will help keep your building cool (especially if you have fluorescent lighting). Turning off non-essential appliances can also help conserve energy and reduce internal heat gain. |
|
COLLAB ON TEMPERATURES
The smaller the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures, the lower your overall cooling bill will be. Work with your employees on finding the most optimal temperature for everyone, setting the temperature as high as it’s comfortable as possible. 78 degrees tend to be the most agreeable number! |
|
CLEAN YOUR AC UNITS
We often come across A/C equipment that is relatively new and fully operational, yet they cost their owners WAY more than necessary to cool the building due to improper maintenance. Change your filters. Clean your condenser coilers. Get routine maintenance done on your A/C units! |
|
UPGRADE
If all else fails, it may be time to upgrade. LED lighting has low energy and heat output and new HVAC equipment can solve your cooling problems.
